Western Union in Mpraeso

WESTERN Union Money Transfer Service has been introduced at the Mpraeso Post Office to serve people in the Kwahu Range.

The Mpraeso service centre is the 18th to be opened in the country.

The Country Manager of Western Union Money Transfer (WUMT), Mr. Tony Kemevor, praised Ghana Post for its efficiency and urged them to do more.

He said Ghana Post joined Western Union less than a year ago but now transacts over 12% of the union's business in the country.

He urged the people in the area to advise their relatives abroad to transfer all their remittances through Western Union for a reliable, safe and efficient service.

He said Western Union as the leading money transfer service providers, will operate on Saturdays at the centre for the convenience of the people.

The Kwahu South District Chief Executive (DCE), Mr. Raymond Osafo Djan, commended Western Union and Ghana Post for bringing their service to the doorstep of the people of Mpraeso and added his voice in urging the people to advise their relations outside to patronize it.

He advised the people to take advantage of the centre and keep part of the money they will receive in the bank for future use. He said by doing so, they could receive some assistance from the bank to improve their lot.

On his part, the Eastern Regional head of Ghana Post, Mr. Stephen Larweh, stated that the mission of Ghana Post is to provide its domestic and foreign customers in the communication and financial markets with prompt, efficient, reliable and secured service.

He said the mission is to be realized through the conveyance of all types of mail items and the provision of other services at competitive rates with a view to contributing towards the country's vision of realizing accelerated growth.

Larweh said the ultimate purpose of Ghana Post is to provide a variety of such services to its customers as it would make the post office a one-stop shop at the doorsteps of the customer.
