CPP NEC meeting cannot take place - General Secretary

Accra, Nov. 26, GNA - The General Secretary of the Convention People's Party (CPP), Mr Ivor Kobina Greenstreet, said on Friday that a proposed National Executive Council (NEC) meeting scheduled for November 30 cannot A0take place because due procedure has not been followed.

In a statement issued in Accra, he said the Party had received an unsigned and undated request for a proposed NEC meeting slated for November 30, 2011.

The statement said: 93For the avoidance of doubt, NEC is a formal meeting of the party. It is the Party that calls for such a meeting at the request of, in this instance, one-third of the membership of NEC.

The Party needs to see the signatories to the request, undergo verification and give notice of the meeting through proper procedure. Failure to follow due process will render the entire process null and void abinitio.

"CPP members are therefore duly informed that this NEC meeting Cannot take place on the 30th of November 2011."
