President begins visit to Canada

President Mills has stated that the time has come for Africa to come together and flex its muscles in showing the world that when given the opportunity the continent can live up to expectation , President Mills made the statement when he arrived in Ottawa, Canada on Thursday night for a four day official visit to Canada.

On arrival President mills was given a rousing welcome by the officials of the Canadian government and members of the African diplomatic corps and the business community here. Adding that Africa is has a quite number of problems but is really happy that Africa is seeing a new kind of leadership which would strive in other to raise the living standard of our people. Because That is the only reason that they were voted in to office the people are crying for development and they cannot be denied this and is happy that more and more of them are beginning to share this vision And was really overwhelmed for the welcome accorded him which was a clear evidence that they have not only for their countries but for Africa as well and that during his visit in Canada he would have time to meet them and share views with them and see where they would take Africa from. Some of the activities that President Mills would be attending whilst in Canada include holding talks with officials of the Canadian commercial cooperation then meet with the Africa Canada parliamentary association then grant an interview with the embassy news paper President Mills would also commission the newly refurbished chancery building at Clemon avenue then also meet with the African heads of missions then also hold brief discussion with the high commissions and staff then would also hold a town hall meetings with the Ghanaian community in Canada at the Paul’s university , Ottawa Welcoming President Mills Mrs. Florence Chideya the dean of the African diplomatic corps who is also the Zimbabwe high commissioner to Canada stated that they were elated to see hi m come to Canada at this time and that for now he’s not the President of Ghana but for Africa and they would meet with him so as to discuss issues pertaining to Africa so as to see the way forward.
