Managerial changes dominate pre-season

It's been a quiet pre-season as the expected high-profile player transfers seems to have rather given way to administrative and technical movements.

With weeks to go for the big kick-off, clubs are still bolstering their set-ups ahead of the Friday player transfer deadline.

However, getting on board key personnel on all fronts is also crucial to the club's aspirations for the new season.

Newly-promoted, Wassaman United have appointed Kurt Okraku as its general manager.

The former GHALCA administrative manager's appointment takes immediate effect.

Another official making the move in the Premier League is Desmond Frimpong-Manso.

He has quit his post as Heart of Lions CEO to join Medeama as a director. Frimpong-Manso will also act as a special assistant to the club's president, Moses Armah.

Coach Yusif Abubakar has finally found himself a job after turning down offers from Asante Kotoko and Berekum Arsenals.

The ex-Berekum Chelsea assistant has signed a two-year deal with Tarkwa-based Medeama, where he would act in a similar capacity.

Asante Kotoko's pre-season might have been on the quiet but certainly not for the club's support base as they rumble over the emergence of a splinter group.

The National Circles Council would have to deal with the formation of the new group named “The Warriors”, who accuse the NCC of doing little to effectively mobilize the club’s huge following.
