New electronic payment cards launched

Accra, July 6, GNA - An Accra-based company in the electronic paymen= ts processing industry, inCharge Global Limited, on Wednesday introduced a new line of loyalty payment cards.

Dubbed 93inCharge", the cards have been designed to promote and facilitate electronic payments processing by providing merchants and organisations the opportunity to offer their own branded loyalty and corporate cards to their customers and members for secure pin-based transactions. Mr Ekow Orleans Boham, Chief Financial Officer, said the cards provide= d a way to make and accept payments easily and securely over the major electronic platforms such as mobile phones, points of sale device, internet and telephones.

He said the cards could be purchased and reloaded at Intercontinental Bank Ghana Limited and accredited fuel stations to be announced later. The cards would attract a reload fee of 50 Ghana pesewas and a monthly charge of 50 Ghana pesewas by the bank and inCharge Global Limited respectively.

He said there was a growing demand of customer loyalty services driven by an expanding ICT industry that incorporated value added features to reflect emerging global trends in financial transactions. Those innovations, he said, were for the benefit of both retail merchants and consumers in making increasingly more convenient and efficien= t payments possible. He said the existence of safe and reliable payment platforms could bring significant benefits to the economy, an outcome that depended on continuous collaboration and commitment from all relevant stakeholders including merchants, issuers and acquirers, who were the key drivers in the issuance and acceptance of electronic payment cards. Mr Boham stressed the need to make the financial system modern and competitive, leveraging on internet payment gateways to introduce new electronic payment products.

He called on industries and corporations to take advantage of the availability of such business processing at outsourcing tools like payments platforms to design their own branded cards based programmes. Ms Sheila Bartels-Sam, the Chief Executive Officer, said 93inCharge w= as created out of a need to enable people to pay any way they wished and be rewarded for spending money at their favourite merchants. "That is why we adopted the tagline 91Freedom to pay'. Whether yo= u want to pay for goods on the net, using your mobile phone, at the point of sale terminal or by direct pay, inCharge offers you the platform to do so. "It is a great time for businesses to take advantage of our secure platform to provide 24/7 service to customers," she added.

inCharge Global Limited has several card products, including corporate branded cards for staff incentive, credit for goods and services, healthcar= e services products, payroll, entertainment and education as well as merchant branded cards for loyalty, gifts and promotions.
