Badu boost for Meteors

Accra, July 6, GNA - The Black Meteors' quest to upset Nigeria's 'Dream Team' in a crucial All African Games qualifier billed for Sunday have been given a big boost after Italian side, Udinese released Emmanuel Agyeman Badu for the duel. A source at the Ghana Football Association (GFA) told GNA Sports that the Serie A side approved the Association's request to have the midfielder for the crucial encounter late Tuesday.

The turn around comes only 48hours after Badu was ordered to join Udinese' pre- season training after negotiations between the Club and the GFA concerning the player's release broke down.

Badu, according to the source is expected to arrive in Ghana Thursday night and would join his colleagues early Friday who are already preparing in Kumasi, two days before the game that Ghana must win at least by two unanswered goals to book qualification.

The Meteors who paraded a strong team for the first leg a fortnight ago but lost 1-3 in Nigeria will be without Rabiu Mohammed who scored Ghana's only goal in th= at game.

Ghana must overturn the 1-3 deficit to book qualification to the quadrennial meeting billed for Maputo, Mozambique in September this year.
