KATH F/C receives sports items

Kumasi, July 4, GNA - The management of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, (KATH) Kumasi has donated sports items valued at GH¢4,000.00 to the football team of the hospital.

The items include two sets of jerseys, 10 footballs, 15 pairs of boots, sets of bib, hoses, two goalkeepers' gloves, whistles, coaching kits and stockings.

The presentation of the items coincided with an Inter-departmental Fun Games organized by the hospital as part of efforts to promote physical fitness among the staff. Mr Offe Gyimah, Director of Administration of KATH, said the games, to be held annually was aimed at improving social interaction among the staff and promote physical exercises as directed in the Ministry of Health's policy of encouraging regenerative health. He said it would additionally forge closer relationship between management and staff.

Mr Gyimah commended the workers for showing greater interest in the fun games and urged them to engage in regular physical exercises to improve their health status.

The management, he said, would continue to support the football team with the needed logistics to transform it into a formidable side. In the men's football match, the Oncology Directorate and its allied groups, which formed team one (1) beat the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Directorate and its allied bodies which formed team six (6) 5-3 on penalties.

In the women's contest, team two (2) which comprised the main Pharmacy, main Accounts, Audit and Insurance emerged the winner after scoring all their penalty kicks.
