Rawlings will not break-away from the NDC

Contrary to the controversy that the founder and former President Jerry John Rawlings will quit the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and form a new party should his wife Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings loose the party’s primaries in Sunyani has been watered down by a vice chairman of the party Alhaji Said Sinare.

He said, he doubts in his heart of hearts that the founder of the party will exit the party because his wife had lost an election, ‘no he won’t he understands the game and very experienced at that.

He said though politics is sometimes unpredictable, he is cork sure that the former president will stay with the party. ‘’ I doubt if Jerry will be able to accept loosing the grounds, and all those who backed him from the revolutionary days, NDC1, NDC2 and he will come out to say he is going to break away from the party he loves?

‘’ We have come a long way in building the party from day one till now, went to opposition for eight years when some of us including the founder of the party went through ‘hell’ and he is aware.’’ He cautioned that if the current situation in the NDC is not resolved and the party looses the 2012 we will all be doomed.

‘’ Those who want to ensure the defeat of the NDC in the 2012 general elections probably do not have anything to lose should that happen, but some of us we have a lot to lose because we want to make Ghana a better place and bring about substantial improvement in the lives of the people’’ Alhaji Sinare said.
