The New Patriotic Party (NPP) National Women’s Organiser, Mavis Hawa Koomson, has called for a comprehensive investigation into allegations of sexual abuse involving 19 students of Obuasi Senior High Technical School, insisting that all individuals who may have been involved must be held accountable.
The former MP said reports that complaints about the alleged abuse had reached school authorities as far back as March 2026, with records pointing to similar incidents dating back to 2021, raised serious concerns about the protection of students.
“We demand a comprehensive investigation that establishes the full circumstances surrounding these allegations and identifies everyone who may have been involved,” she said.
“The headmaster must not be shielded because of his influence, connections or standing. Neither should he be shielded because he is a senior member of the ruling National Democratic Congress, nor a board member of the Ghana National Film Authority,” she added.
