The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) has requested detailed financial, tax and operational records from Accra-based law firm Sarkodie Baffour Awuah and Partners as part of its ongoing investigations.

In a letter dated October 30, 2026, and signed by Executive Director Raymond Archer, EOCO invoked Section 19 of the Economic and Organised Crime Office Act, 2010 (Act 804), to request documents covering the period from 2017 to 2025.

The letter, addressed to the firm at No. 9 Wawa Drive, North Dzorwulu, Accra, and marked confidential, stated that the information was needed to assist with ongoing investigations.

“The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) presents its compliments to you and respectfully requests information to assist with the ongoing investigations,” the letter said.

EOCO specifically requested the firm's audited financial statements; evidence of tax payments to the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), including corporate tax, VAT, levies and withholding tax; and a list of bank accounts operated by the firm, together with their statements.

The office also requested the firm's operating permit and renewal documents issued by the relevant assembly, as well as a list of its employees, if any.

EOCO directed the law firm to submit the requested records by November 6, 2026, and appealed for its cooperation.

The request forms part of a wider investigation into allegations of criminal conspiracy, financial loss to SIC Savings and Loans, money laundering, tax-related offences and other matters.

Manhyia South Member of Parliament, Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah, who is a senior partner at the law firm, earlier surrendered to EOCO in connection with the investigation and was subsequently arrested.

The firm is expected to submit the requested documents by Friday, November 6, 2026.
