He said that the news of Javits’ death had saddened him and many Ghanaians, adding that he wanted to personally reach out to the family during their difficult time.
“My deepest condolences. It's so sad what has happened to your son, and I just thought I should call to give you my condolences.
“The whole Ghana is very sad about what has happened and I want to say sorry and to let you know we are thinking about the family and what you are going through. I’m praying that God gives you the strength to prevail. This is a sad loss,” Dr Bawumia said.
Javits’ father, in response, thanked the former Vice President for the phone call and his delegation for visiting the family at their residence in the United States.
He said he was surprised by the gesture and expressed appreciation for the show of support at a difficult time for the family.
“Dr thank you very much, and your people who have come to visit me. Actually, I didn’t expect such a gesture from you. I do appreciate you so much, sir, and what you have done for us,” Frimpong said.
