The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has said an attack on any Ghanaian anywhere in the world is an attack on the entire country.
He gave the assurance while pledging that the government would continue to pursue justice for 15-year-old Javits Frimpong, the Ghanaian teenager who was shot and killed in the United States.

In a Facebook post on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, Ablakwa said the government was in close communication with US authorities over investigations into Javits’ death.
“The Foreign Ministry and our diplomatic missions will continue to actively pursue justice for all our compatriots everywhere in the world — an attack on a Ghanaian anywhere in the world is an attack on all of us,” he wrote.
The minister also announced that Javits’ mother, Doris Adu Gyamfi, and his cousin had secured their US visas and were expected to travel to the country in the next few hours.
He commended the US Embassy in Accra for processing their visas on the same day, following what he described as special interventions by US President Donald Trump and New York City Mayor Kwame Mamdani.
“I wish to commend the US Embassy in Accra for the super expedited same-day processing of the visa of the mother and cousin of Javits Frimpong yesterday.
“We are grateful to President Trump and Mayor Kwame Mamdani for their special intervention.
“All is now set for Madam Doris Adu Gyamfi and her niece to depart Ghana for the US in the next few hours,” he stated.
Ablakwa said the government would continue to follow the investigations until justice was served.
“We shall have no rest until justice is manifestly done,” he added.
He also expressed sympathy for Javits’ parents and family, saying no parent should have to lose a child under such circumstances.

“No parent deserves to lose their 15-year-old in these heart-wrenching circumstances. We shall continue to keep the parents of Javits Frimpong and his dear family in our thoughts and prayers,” he wrote.
