The Sakumono District Police Command launched a manhunt for a 58-year-old man, identified as Osei-Anto Samuel Christopher, in connection with the alleged murder of a couple at NTHC Estate, Sakumono, in the Greater Accra Region.
The suspect is alleged to have shot dead Irene Atuguba, 47, and George Atuguba, 57, at their residence at No. 79 Oti Street on Friday, October 30, 2026.
According to a statement issued by the police on October, 30, 2026, the command received a distress call at about 7:20 am that “two persons have been murdered in a house at NTHC Estate, Sakumono.”

It added that when the officers arrived at the scene, they found the couple “lying in a pool of blood with gunshot wounds.”
They were rushed to the Sakumono Multiplex Community Hospital, where a medical officer pronounced them dead.
Their bodies were subsequently conveyed to the Police Hospital mortuary for preservation pending an autopsy.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the deceased had allegedly borrowed GH¢500,000 from the suspect and was expected to pay interest of GH¢100,000. Police said the deceased had defaulted on the repayment.
The letter further stated that the suspect visited the couple’s residence on the day of the incident with his wife, Beatrice Mumuni, 46.
A misunderstanding reportedly broke out in the house in the presence of three children and a house help, during which the suspect allegedly pulled out a loaded pistol and fired at the two victims.
The suspect is said to have fled the scene, leaving his wife behind. Police also retrieved four empty cartridge shells from the scene.
The police said information gathered suggested that the suspect was “trying to leave the country as soon as possible.”
The Sakumono District Police Command has consequently asked the Ghana Immigration Service to place the suspect’s name on its “stop list” to prevent him from travelling outside the country as investigations continue.
