Founder and leader of Prophetic Hill Chapel, Prophet Nigel Gaisie, has said that he had hoped to receive a government appointment, either as a minister or a member of the Council of State.

Speaking in a recent interview on Neat FM, he said he had anticipated being considered for a position in government, particularly one that would allow him to oversee religious affairs.

“I was looking forward to being appointed as a minister. I was hoping that maybe I would have been a Council of State member or a minister responsible for religious affairs. I'm educated, and I would have done it while continuing with the work of God,” he said.

Prophet Gaisie also defended his contribution to the current government, insisting that his efforts could not be overlooked.

He further argued that the church should take an active interest in politics rather than remain on the sidelines of governance.

According to him, religious leaders should not be excluded from political appointments simply because of their positions in the church.

To support his argument, he cited Zimbabwean preacher Prophet Uebert Angel, who has held a diplomatic appointment in the Zimbabwean government.

Prophet Gaisie suggested that Ghana could also consider similar arrangements, adding that he would be open to a political appointment in the next phase of governance if he considered it worthwhile.

“We should also look at it. In the next phase of governance, we will see. If it is a good appointment, I will consider it,” he added.
