The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Investment Promotion Authority (GIPA), Simon Madjie, has highlighted Ghana's plan to attract US$10 billion in investment over four years through the New Economy Programme.
The programme is expected to attract investment into agribusiness, manufacturing, energy and tourism as the government seeks to create jobs and expand economic activity.
Madjie made this known during a presentation titled “Investing in Ghana’s New Economy” at the 9th World Investment Forum in Doha, Qatar, on Monday, October 26, 2026.

He outlined Ghana's economic reforms, including the new GIPA law, and highlighted investment opportunities across all 16 regions of the country.
"Ghana's New Economy Programme presents opportunities for investors to participate in the country’s economic transformation, with a focus on agribusiness, manufacturing, energy and tourism,” he said.
Madjie also highlighted Ghana's access to regional and international markets through trade agreements and initiatives, including the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
He said access to these markets offered investors the opportunity to use Ghana as a base for expanding their businesses across Africa.
"With investment opportunities across all 16 regions, Ghana offers investors a range of options to explore beyond the traditional business centres," he added.
The GIPA CEO further stressed the importance of the programme in attracting capital to key sectors and supporting economic growth.
“The US$10 billion New Economy Programme is designed to support investment in key sectors over four years, helping to create jobs and strengthen Ghana's economy,” he stated.
The presentation forms part of Ghana's efforts to attract international investors, promote business opportunities and position the country as an investment destination under the AfCFTA and other trade arrangements.
