An old video of Ghanaian-born conservative Christian blogger Samuel Sey, in which he was seen happily supporting President Donald Trump’s mass deportation policies.
In the video, Sey argued that the United States had done nothing wrong by enforcing its immigration laws and deporting individuals living in the country illegally to their respective countries.
Quoting scriptures from the Bible, he explained that God also opposes illegal immigration and argued that it is considered a sin; hence, President Donald Trump should not be classified as a bad person for enforcing mass deportation.
“To say very plainly, illegal immigration is a sin. I want to start off with a very simple statement. Donald Trump is not the first person to oppose illegal immigration. Do you know who the first person is? It is God, He who marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands.

“God is the one who makes nations. He is the one who marks out their appointed times in history. It is God who created America. So illegal immigration isn’t against American law. It’s against God’s law,” he said.
Sey, while preaching to his congregants, also claimed that he was a legal immigrant.
Following his statement, he was, however, seen pleading with members of his congregation not to cause his deportation to Ghana.
“If I offend you with anything, it’s okay, because I’m an immigrant myself. Except, just don’t call ICE, that’s all. Don’t try to deport me for that. Don’t worry, I’m a legal immigrant, so don’t worry,” he added.
Background:
Samuel Sey, 39, was reportedly arrested and detained by US immigration authorities in Ohio on Wednesday, October 21, 2026.
According to reports by The Roys Report and other US media outlets, he was booked into the Butler County Jail, north of Cincinnati, shortly after 3:30 p.m., with his detention status listed as "Hold for ICE."
Jail records reportedly showed that he remained in custody as of Friday, October 23, although no criminal charges were listed in the publicly available booking information.
His detention has attracted attention because of his outspoken support for President Trump's immigration crackdown, particularly his repeated defence of the deportation of undocumented immigrants.
Born in Ghana, Sey relocated to Canada in the 1990s before moving to the United States in 2022 to marry a woman living in Ohio.
He had previously disclosed that he did not possess permanent residency status in the United States and was not authorised to work in the country.

Despite his immigration status, Sey continued to write and contribute to several conservative Christian and political platforms, including The Daily Wire, The Blaze, Christian Post, and Turning Point USA.
Over the years, he has gained recognition for his commentary on Christianity, race, immigration, and American politics.
In one of his articles defending Trump's deportation policies, Sey argued that the removal of undocumented immigrants was consistent with Christian teachings.
"Christian ethics do not denounce deportations. They demand it," he wrote, insisting that immigration laws must be enforced.
His reported detention and impending removal have drawn attention to the contrast between his public support for stricter immigration enforcement and his own encounter with the US immigration system.
