A Ghanaian returnee from South Africa has warned critics of Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa that they will suffer diarrhoea if they harshly criticise or attack him for helping Ghanaians return home.
Speaking to the media in Accra on October 26, 2026, in comments sighted by GhanaWeb, the female returnee praised Ablakwa for what she described as his tireless efforts to assist Ghanaians who came under attack from South African nationals.

According to her, she witnessed the minister’s efforts while in South Africa and believes Ghanaians should appreciate his intervention rather than criticise him.
“Okudzeto Ablakwa has done so well. He didn’t sleep. I was there in South Africa, so I know what I’m saying. They have helped us a lot because we were under attack from South African nationals and they came to our rescue.
“Ghanaians must appreciate him for what he did and not scrutinise him. Anyone who criticises Okudzeto Ablakwa harshly will have diarrhoea. Nobody sent you to South Africa, so if you travelled there and things didn’t go well, and he is helping you, why would you criticise him?” she said.
The returnee also recounted the difficulties she faced in South Africa, saying the situation left her depressed, particularly as she struggled to pay her shop rent every month.
She said returning to Ghana had improved her well-being.
“I was depressed because it got to a point where I was paying shop rent monthly. I was in bad condition then, but since I returned to Ghana, I feel much better and in good condition,” she disclosed.

Her comments come amid claims that some evacuees did not receive the allowances promised to them, while others allegedly received less than the amount promised by the government.
