Constituency Executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Afigya Sekyere East have apologised to Agonamanhene, Obirikomfo Anokye Boakye II, after he was addressed as ‘Chief’ instead of ‘Paramount Chief’ in an invitation to the MNB Inter-Senior High School Football Tournament.

The apology follows a letter issued by the Agona Traditional Council and addressed to the Member of Parliament for Afigya Sekyere East, Mavis Nkansah-Boadu, concerning the invitation to the tournament.

In a statement, the NPP constituency executives acknowledged the error, describing it as a clerical mistake that was neither intentional nor intended to show disrespect to the traditional ruler.

“We deeply regret this inadvertent error and assure Agonamanhene and the Agona Traditional Council that it was entirely unintentional, was not borne out of disrespect, and will not happen again,” the statement said.

The constituency executives assured the traditional authorities that the mistake would not recur.
