The Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) has announced new times for releasing local gold prices, with the changes taking effect from Monday, October 26, 2026, to Saturday, March 27, 2027.
Under the new arrangement, the morning gold price announcement will move from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., while the afternoon announcement will shift from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
In a statement released on Sunday, October 25, 2026, GoldBod explained that the adjustment follows the end of British Summer Time in the United Kingdom, which brings London and Ghana onto the same time zone.

The change means the London Bullion Market Association (LBMA) gold price benchmarks, which GoldBod uses to determine local gold prices, will be released one hour later in Ghana under the revised schedule.
“The adjustment in the time of the announcement arises from the end of British Summer Time in the United Kingdom and the resulting alignment of London time with Ghana time (Greenwich Mean Time),” the statement explained.
GoldBod has directed all licensed gold buyers across the country to follow the revised announcement times when conducting gold purchase transactions.
The Board clarified that the adjustment affects only the timing of price announcements and does not change how local gold prices are determined or how gold trading is conducted.
“For the avoidance of doubt, all other rules, procedures and requirements governing local gold price determination and trading shall remain unchanged,” it stated.
Licensed gold buyers will therefore continue operating under the existing pricing and trading rules but will have to wait an additional hour for the daily morning and afternoon price announcements.

GoldBod further indicated that the previous announcement times will be restored on Sunday, March 28, 2027, when the United Kingdom switches back to British Summer Time.
The Board said it would provide further guidance to licensed gold buyers, if necessary, to ensure a smooth transition to the revised schedule.
