A Memorial Mass is being held in honour of the late former First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, to mark the first anniversary of her passing.
The service, which is being held on Friday, October 23, 2026, at the Holy Spirit Cathedral, brings together family members, friends, political figures and sympathisers to remember the life and legacy of the former First Lady.
Nana Konadu was the wife of Ghana’s former President, Jerry John Rawlings, and served as First Lady during his tenure in office. She was also known for her advocacy for women’s empowerment and children’s welfare.
She founded the 31st December Women’s Movement, an organisation that championed women’s participation in development and sought to improve the welfare of women and children across the country.
The Memorial Mass provides an opportunity for mourners to reflect on her contributions to Ghanaian society and pay tribute to her memory as they observe the first anniversary of her passing.
