The Ghana Football Association (GFA) Communications Director, Henry Asante Twum, has said plans are underway to pay the prize money for the 2025/2026 Ghana Premier League season.
He noted that the accounts department is working to resolve outstanding details to facilitate the payments as soon as possible.
According to Asante Twum, some of the details being reviewed include the head-to-head results of clubs in the top five, which will help determine their final positions and ensure that the correct prize money is paid.
Why Kim Lars was chosen to lead the Black Stars over local coaches
“Regarding the prize money for the previous campaign, the last time I spoke to the accountant, he was compiling the list. Some he confirmed two seasons ago. We instituted the first five, and then certain things, so we need to be sure.
“And after playing the league, there are head-to-head points, so from the accounts division, they need the right structure to make the right payment to all the deserving clubs. That was my last conversation with the accounts division, but I can’t tell if they’ve paid or not,” he said during an interview with Max FM.
There have been growing concerns about delays in the payment of funds owed by the GFA to clubs, with stakeholders questioning how the delays affect their operations.
