The arrests followed a missing-person report filed by the victim’s mother with the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) of the Gomoa Buduburam District Police on Monday, October 19, at about 12:40 p.m.

“The arrest followed a report of a missing person received on Monday, 19th October 2026, by the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) of the Gomoa Buduburam District Police at about 12:40 p.m.

“The complainant (victim’s mother) stated that her daughter, Blessing Innocent, now deceased, had been missing since Saturday, 17th October 2026,” part of the statement noted.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the deceased, identified as Blessing Innocent, had visited the two suspects, who are neighbours, at about 8:30 a.m. on the day she went missing.

The police subsequently arrested the suspects on October 20, 2026. During interrogation, both men reportedly admitted that the girl had been with them on the day in question.

“Preliminary investigation established that, on 17th October 2026, at about 8:30 a.m., the deceased visited suspects Kingsley Ozor and his apprentice, Jeffery Otaigbe, who are both neighbours, and that happened to be the last place she was seen.”

The statement further detailed that one of the suspects, identified as Otaigbe, allegedly lured the girl into an uncompleted building near an estate community, where he sexually abused her before realising that she had become lifeless.
