This week is definitely going to be a long one, considering the drama involving Florence Obinim, the estranged wife of Bishop Daniel Obinim, as new details surrounding their divorce saga have emerged.
Recently, Bishop Daniel Obinim and his former wife have been the topic of discussion on social media ever since news of their divorce became known to the public.
In one of the developments, Bishop Daniel Obinim, on October 11, 2026, during a church ceremony, was seen reading a petition filed by his former wife, in which the gospel musician was heard demanding one of the preacher’s church buildings, a house in Ghana, a house in Barcelona, among other properties.
While Bishop Obinim was reading the petition, the cleric was seen referring to the gospel musician as a “mad and foolish” person.

According to Obinim, Florence is mentally ill and has also become of unsound mind as a result of her association with mentally ill persons.
“Florence is mad... She has become mad because she has started moving with mad people. All the people she moves with are not wise; they are mad people, and she takes the medicine meant for mad people,” Bishop Obinim said in the viral video.
In a recent development, Florence Obinim has filed a fresh lawsuit against her former husband for allegedly publicly ridiculing her and calling her all sorts of names.
According to Florence Obinim in the suit, her estranged husband, during a church ceremony, labelled her as a mad person for demanding what she believes is due to her.
“...The said words were spoken before a large congregation and are slanderous, and are actionable without proof of special damage, being calculated to disparage the plaintiff in her calling as a gospel musician, which calling she carried on at the time of publication,” the suit reads.
Florence Obinim, through her lawyers, also raised a series of arguments in her lawsuit, noting that the alleged insults from her former husband have badly affected her reputation.
She also informed the court that the defamation and allegations levelled against her by her former husband have affected her brand as a musician and her respect in society, considering the large following her former husband has.
Florence Obinim, in her suit, is therefore praying for the court to grant her seven reliefs.
The gospel musician is praying for the court to place a perpetual injunction restraining Bishop Obinim, his agents, servants, church officers, media outfits or anyone acting on his behalf from further publishing or uttering such demeaning words against her.
She is also praying for the court to grant her GH¢5 million as general damages.
Florence Obinim, in her suit, is also asking for a retraction and an unreserved apology for the said words by the defendant.
She wants the apology to be made with the same prominence as the alleged insults on the same television, live-streaming and social media platforms.
