Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mustapha Gbande, has accused Dennis Miracles Aboagye of lying about comments he allegedly made against the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) National First Vice Chairman-elect, Kojo Bamba.
Gbande denied claims that he had said Bamba did not deserve to occupy the position, insisting that his comments had been misrepresented.

Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, Mr Gbande said he had never made such a statement and described the allegation as contrary to his character.
“I have said that nowhere. That is not my style, and that is not how I was trained to conduct,” he stated.
He explained that his actual comments were about the circumstances surrounding Bamba’s election, which he attributed to protest voting against the conduct of NPP appointees during the party’s eight years in government.
Gbande also questioned Bamba’s political background, alleging that he was associated with the group known as the Invisible Forces in the Ashanti Region.
He further alleged that Bamba had led a group that attacked a sitting judge in court, adding that these were the issues he had raised rather than questioning the NPP vice chairman-elect’s right to the position.
The NDC executive also responded to comments attributed to Aboagye, who allegedly questioned where he would have found a place in the absence of the NDC.
Defending his record, Gbande said he had served in various capacities within the party and at the Presidency without being linked to corruption.
“I am proud to say that from the headquarters of the NDC to the Jubilee House where I served the president, none of my bosses can put me on the map of corruption. None,” he said.
He added that nobody had a record of him engaging in corrupt practices and recalled his service to the NDC as a deputy regional secretary.
Gbande’s remarks come amid exchanges following the NPP’s recent national executive elections, which produced new leaders for the opposition party.
