Dr Adam Bonaa, Executive Secretary of the National Commission on Small Arms and Light Weapons, has recounted how an intel he received and shared with a media house about the Ghana Army led to his invitation by the police headquarters.
Speaking on The Lowdown on GhanaWeb TV, he stated that the information was reviewed by the media outlet and broadcast after he passed it on to a journalist.

According to him, as soon as the report hit the airwaves, the Ghana Army wrote to the Ghana Police Service, leading to an invitation of him (Dr Adam Bonaa) and TV3.
“I was once invited by the police in 2024. I intercepted some information, and I passed on the information to someone who would have been in your position at TV3,” he said.
He explained that the report focused on the Ghana Army and that the station interviewed him and other people before broadcasting it.
“It was about the Ghana Army. The next day, the Ghana Army wrote to the Ghana Police, and they invited me and TV3… I went to the police headquarters. TV3 came with their lawyers,” he recounted.
Dr Bonaa said he had obtained the information from a then Minister of State and disclosed the source to the police when he was invited.
He said the matter was subsequently dropped after he identified the minister as the source of the information.
