The US dollar, British pound and euro have all recorded increases against the Ghana cedi in the latest interbank exchange rates published by the Bank of Ghana.

According to the rates published on Monday, October 19, 2026, the US dollar is selling at GH¢11.6708, up from GH¢11.6558 in the previous schedule for Friday, October 16. Its buying rate has also increased from GH¢11.6442 to GH¢11.6592.

The British pound has also strengthened against the cedi, with its selling rate rising to GH¢15.5537 from GH¢15.4486. Its buying rate increased from GH¢15.4320 to GH¢15.5370 over the same period.

The euro recorded a similar movement, with its selling rate climbing to GH¢13.1023 from GH¢13.0600. Its buying rate also increased from GH¢13.0459 to GH¢13.0904.

The figures show that all three major currencies recorded increases in both buying and selling rates between the two published schedules, indicating a slight weakening of the cedi against the currencies in the latest interbank quotations.

The latest rates are based on average interbank quotations at the close of business on Friday, October 16, 2026. The previous schedule, published on Friday, October 16, was based on rates at the close of business on Thursday, October 15, 2026.

The movements mean that customers buying dollars, pounds or euros through transactions priced around the published interbank rates would face slightly higher cedi costs than under the previous schedule. However, actual rates offered by commercial banks and forex bureaus may differ.

The exchange rates provide an indication of movements in the foreign exchange market, although the figures alone do not establish the underlying causes of the changes.
