Debibi United climbed out of the relegation zone after edging Bibiani Gold Stars at the Debibi Presby Park on Sunday.

Maxwell Agyemang’s strike just before half-time proved decisive, ending the hosts’ three-match winless run and drawing them level with Gold Stars on seven points.

The Oziii Ozaaa boys held on to their slender lead after the break to secure a crucial three points and deny the Miners back-to-back victories.

Gold Stars had hoped to build on last weekend’s home win over Basake Holy Stars, but the Ghana Premier League debutants showed resilience to claim a valuable victory on home soil.

Debibi United will look to build on the win when they travel to face Bechem United in their next fixture, while Gold Stars will aim to bounce back when they host Heart of Lions.
