A Ghanaian-American, Wisdom Atta Kumah, has been the centre of attention at a rally for United States President Donald Trump with his enthusiastic support for the president.
Kumah, who said he moved from Ghana to the United States nine years ago and had since become a US citizen, praised Trump’s leadership and credited his return to the White House with an improvement in his personal fortunes.
Speaking to the media at the rally ahead of the US midterm elections, Kumah described Trump as “the greatest leader of our time” and urged him to ignore his critics and continue what he believes is the right thing for the country.
“You are the greatest leader of our time. There’s nobody like you. Avoid the noise. You are doing the right thing,” he told the president.
Kumah, who said he had followed Trump’s political career while still in Ghana, claimed that his financial circumstances had deteriorated when Trump left office but improved after he returned to the White House.
“When I came here in 2018, you were the president. Things were going on well. When you left, my life fell down like a stock market. But when you came back, that same year, I bought a house. I’m now on my way to get a second home,” he said.
The Ghanaian-American expressed gratitude to Trump, suggesting that the president’s time in office had coincided with significant progress in his personal life.
He did not provide further details about his finances or establish how Trump's policies had directly contributed to his reported property purchases.
Kumah also offered prayers for the president, asking God to grant him wisdom, knowledge and the endurance to withstand criticism.
“May the Lord keep you. May the Lord provide you. May the Lord support you. May the Lord give you wisdom, knowledge, endurance to endure the pain from the haters,” he said.
He drew a comparison between the criticism Trump faces and the opposition Jesus Christ encountered, arguing that attacks from critics should not discourage the president from pursuing his goals.
“They hate Jesus Christ. They hate Jesus because he was doing the right thing. Anything that people hate, meaning what you are doing something. Haters attack you because you are doing the right thing. Keep doing the right thing,” Kumah said.
He concluded by reiterating his admiration for Trump and expressing his desire to meet the president in person for the first time.
“I love you, Mr President. May God be with you. I can’t wait to see you for the first time in my life. I’m so grateful,” he said.
The rally was reportedly held at Truist Arena in Highland Heights, Kentucky, on October 17, 2026, as Trump campaigned for Republican candidates ahead of the US midterm elections.
