The Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has reiterated his call for the Chief Executive Officer of Tribe Culture Fest, Nana Boateng Gyimah, to be held accountable amid threats of legal action over the 2026 World Cup visa scandal.

The minister earlier accused the CEO of collecting more than $600,000 from victims and called on authorities to act over his alleged failure to refund the money.

In response, Nana Boateng, in a press release issued on October 12, 2026, vehemently denied the allegations, insisting that he had not illegally collected any money and had acted in accordance with agreements with state institutions.

The Tribe Culture Fest CEO also challenged the sports minister to provide evidence to substantiate his allegations, insisting that Kofi Adams should either back his claims with evidence or withdraw them to avoid facing a lawsuit.

However, the sports minister has said he is not perturbed by the threat of legal action and stands by his earlier allegations and call for accountability.

“Well, they may have been doing a so-called genuine business, but on this occasion and in this particular matter, they have defrauded the people, and they must be held liable for it. And all others, including any government official who is found to have involved himself or herself in any way.

“Even though we took time to advise Ghanaians and to warn them ahead of the World Cup, don't do this, don't do that, it doesn't mean that if they have done it, we should just fold our arms and say that, okay, we advised them, and they refused, so we will not do anything. It's up to them. No.

“When we returned from the World Cup, based on reports and petitions, I conducted investigations, I interviewed people, and I got information about a series of meetings that they had with these Tribe Culture Fest persons and the rest. They are supposed to refund all those monies,” he said in an interview with Channel One TV.
