Amid ongoing discussions about the number of lawyers called to the Ghana Bar each year, a remarkable story has emerged of a Ghanaian family whose shared passion for the legal profession has attracted attention.

At the centre of this story is seasoned legal practitioner Kwasi Amoako Adjei, Esq, a former Vice President of the Ghana Bar Association (GBA), whose three daughters have all followed in his footsteps to become lawyers.

With more than 35 years of experience in legal practice, Kwasi Amoako Adjei has built a career in Ghana's legal profession, establishing a legacy that his three daughters are now carrying forward.

He served as Vice President of the Ghana Bar Association from 2021 to November 2024, contributing to the leadership and development of the legal profession.

Beyond his leadership role, he is the founder of Amoako Adjei Law Consult, a law firm with more than 15 lawyers and offices in Accra and Koforidua.

However, what makes his story particularly remarkable is that all three of his daughters have chosen to pursue careers in law, making the legal profession a shared family calling.

His daughters, Adwoa A. Amoako Adjei, Esq, Ama Amoako Adjei, Esq and Afia Amoako Adjei, Esq, have each qualified as lawyers, following their father's professional path while carving out their own identities and ambitions.

Adwoa, the eldest of the three sisters, was called to The Gambia Bar in February 2019 before being called to the Ghana Bar in February 2020.

With more than seven years of experience in the legal profession, Adwoa has also distinguished herself beyond the courtroom as an author and mentor.

She is the author of Mixed Up, a thriller available on Amazon, reflecting her passion for creative writing alongside her legal career.

Her younger sister, Ama Amoako Adjei, was called to The Gambia Bar in November 2019 and subsequently to the Ghana Bar in June 2021.

With nearly seven years of experience since her first call to the Bar, Ama continues to build her legal career, contributing to the family's growing legacy in the profession.

The youngest of the three sisters, Afia Amoako Adjei, joined the legal profession after being called to the Ghana Bar in October 2025.

Her admission to the Bar marked another significant milestone for the family, completing the remarkable achievement of a father and all three of his daughters becoming lawyers.

Interestingly, the family's shared educational background extends beyond the legal profession.

The three sisters and their mother, Addobea Amoako Adjei, are all products of Aburi Girls' Senior High School.
