A Ghanaian man has outlined steps mobile money users can follow to request a reversal after mistakenly sending mobile money to the wrong number.

Speaking in a video circulating on social media on October 13, 2026, the man advised MTN MoMo users to download the telecommunication's app on their mobile devices instead of dialing the short code number.

Mobile Money transactions surge to GH¢518.8 billion in August

“If you mistakenly send MoMo to someone, go to the MTN app. And follow these steps,” he said.

He explained that users should navigate to the transactions section of the app and select “View All” to access their transaction history.

“Go to transactions, then click on ‘view all’. A button will pop up, and on the right-hand side, you will see ‘press reverse’,” he stated.

According to him, the option allows users to view their transactions and select the one they want to reverse.

“You will see all the transactions you have done from the button that has popped up. You can press the button to reverse the transaction,” he added.

The man further advised users to initiate the reversal process within 24 hours of making the wrong transfer, claiming that the transaction could be reversed if the request was made within that period.
