Leader of Heaven’s Gate Ministries International, Prophet Kumchacha, has accused the National Democratic Congress (NDC) of neglecting him despite his support for the party while in opposition.
Speaking in an interview on Aluta FM, the preacher said some NDC leaders, including ministers, Members of Parliament (MPs) and chief executives of state institutions, no longer answer calls or return them.
“Some ministers, MPs, top NDC leaders and state CEOs, when we call you, you should answer our calls. I’m tired. It won’t be long before your remaining two years in office are up. Some people are eating while others are going hungry,” Kumchacha said.
He praised Agriculture Minister Eric Opoku, GoldBod CEO Sammy Gyamfi and National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP) CEO Eric Adjei for their willingness to help people who visit their offices for assistance.
According to Kumchacha, these three officials regularly help people who approach them for support and sometimes even use their own money to assist those in need.
Here's what Prophet Kumchacha said about President Mahama's government
However, he stated that some other government appointees have blocked contacts, making it impossible for them to be reached by phone.
Kumchacha urged NDC leaders appointed by President John Dramani Mahama to change their attitude towards people who supported the party before it returned to power.
“Politicians do not learn. When they are in opposition, they are very interactive and readily answer your calls, but when they come into power and assume positions, they stop answering their calls.
“These top NDC leaders, especially those President Mahama has appointed to various positions, should learn from this. Not everyone who calls you is asking for money, but the complaints I am receiving about the NDC are very troubling,” he noted.
The preacher also said he had not benefited from the government since the NDC returned to power.
However, he maintained that he had a good relationship with President Mahama and his wife, Lordina Mahama, which was why he continued to hold them in high regard.
“John Mahama, as a person, is very good, but I have not benefited in any way from this government since it came into office,” he stated.
