A survivor of domestic violence has recounted how her ex-husband allegedly beat her and left her standing naked in their compound for more than an hour after he became upset that she was secretly applying for jobs.

Speaking on Joy FM’s Super Morning Show on October 9, 2026, she said the incident happened when she was preparing to attend a job interview.

According to her, her partner became angry because she had not told him about the activities she was undertaking while in school.

She said the situation escalated after she finished preparing for the interview and he questioned her about where she was going and how she was dressed.

She said her partner then started beating her, forcing her to flee the house while naked. She explained that he subsequently locked her out, leaving her exposed in the compound.

“I finished showering and he came by to ask me why I was dressing up. And I wasn't really responding because I didn't want to tell him anything. So, he started beating me up and I ran out of the house. I was literally naked. I ran out of the house. I ran off, and people saw me because he was beating me,” she said.

The woman said she remained outside for more than an hour because her partner had locked her out of the house.

“I stood outside on the compound, naked for more than an hour,” she recounted.

She explained that the compound was not walled, although the structure had bars through which people could see into the compound.
