Accra Hearts of Oak have denied reports of a player revolt in camp over welfare concerns, insisting that the club continues to provide adequate meals and welfare packages for its players and officials.

In a press statement dated October 8, 2026, the Phobians dismissed reports circulating in the media suggesting that players are unhappy with their welfare conditions.

“The management of Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club PLC wishes to inform and assure the general public, our teeming supporters and stakeholders that there is NO CRISIS in the Hearts of Oak camp regarding the welfare of our players as it has been suggested in reports circulating in the media space,” the statement said.

The club maintained that it offers employment and welfare packages that compare favourably with those of other teams within Ghana’s prevailing economic conditions.

According to management, players selected for home matches are provided with dinner on the eve of games, as well as breakfast, lunch and dinner on matchdays, while they remain in the club’s accommodation.

For away matches, players and officials are provided with three square meals on the day before the game and on matchdays.

Hearts of Oak consequently appealed to supporters and other stakeholders to disregard reports claiming that players are not adequately fed before and on matchdays.

The club further stressed that the welfare of its players, technical team and other staff remains a priority, adding that it will continue to explore ways to improve their working conditions.

“As part of our efforts to achieve pre-eminence not just locally, but continentally, we will continue to strive for the best at all times,” the statement added.

The statement was signed by Hearts of Oak management, which reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining healthy conditions for everyone at the club.
