Senior nursing officer, Salomey Awity Baffoe, has been warmly welcomed home by colleagues, family and well-wishers following her release on bail after spending weeks in custody over her alleged links to the ‘Ghana Jollof’ TikTok account.
In a video shared on X on Thursday, October 8, 2026, her nursing colleagues were seen embracing her and celebrating her return home.
Some of those gathered also poured white powder on her as a symbolic gesture of victory, while others hugged her and expressed their joy at her release.
Baffoe was granted GH¢100,000 bail by the Adenta Circuit Court in connection with the case.
Her release brought an emotional reunion with her colleagues and loved ones, who had gathered to welcome her home.
'Ghana Jollof' Case: Salomey Baffoe granted GH¢100,000 bail
Salomey Awity Baffoe, a 40-year-old Senior Nursing Officer, was arrested in September 2026 over alleged links to the “Ghana Jollof” TikTok account, which police say was operated by UK-based Barbara Asantewaa Kodua.
Baffoe was charged with abetment of crime, to wit, publication of false news, after investigators alleged that she helped facilitate the distribution of videos produced by Kodua and recruited others to circulate the content.
She pleaded not guilty and was initially remanded in custody before being granted GH¢100,000 bail by the Adenta Circuit Court on October 5.
The case has been adjourned to February 17, 2027.
