Several high-profile personalities from Ghana’s political and media space are set to be called to the Bar on Friday, October 9, 2026.

Among those expected to be officially admitted to the legal profession are Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, Communications Minister, Sam Nartey George, and broadcast journalist, Umaru Sanda Amadu.

Others also include the Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya East, Phylis Naa Koryoo Okunor, and Davis Opoku Ansah, the Member of Parliament for Mpraeso.

Their call to the Bar will mark the completion of their legal training and admission to practice law in Ghana.

Videos circulating on X have captured some of the personalities at a call-to-dinner event held ahead of the ceremony.

More than 1,400 people are expected to be called to the Bar this year, according to reports.

The ceremony formally admits successful law graduates to the legal profession after completing the required legal education and training.

Earlier in March 2026, another batch was called, which saw Serwaa Amihere, one of the notable media personalities in the country, getting inducted. Last year, about 824 lawyers were called to the bar.
