The Teshie District Police Commander, DSP Elvis Ntow Amanor, has warned ride-hailing service drivers to be cautious when accepting trips to some parts of the community in Teshie, particularly at certain hours.

According to him in a video shared by TV3 on X, drivers should consider both the time and destination before accepting trips, describing Teshie Maami as a “bit problematic” area.

He said the warning is not meant to suggest that the entire community is unsafe but to encourage drivers to take extra precautions when operating at night.

“Every area in the community needs to be protected. What I would tell these drivers is that they should be conscious when they are accepting trips. They should look at the hour and then some areas. I would say Teshie Mami is a little problematic so they should look at the area and then the hour,” he said.

DSP Amanor’s comments come amid renewed concerns over the safety of drivers in parts of Teshie following the alleged kidnapping and murder of 33-year-old Circle phone dealer Nana Yaw Kyere, popularly known as Dinero.

Kyere was reported missing after leaving his residence at Kokomlemle on September 19, 2026.

Police investigations established that he was allegedly lured to the residence of one of the suspects at Teshie Agbleza by Sarah Osei Adams.

The police said Kyere was later attacked during a confrontation and died from injuries. His body was subsequently transported to a location near the motorway, dumped in a bush and set on fire.
