Football analyst Christopher Nimley has questioned the leadership and experience within Ghana’s Black Stars setup following the team’s defeat to The Gambia.

Nimley argued that Ghana lacked the influential figures needed to rally the players after conceding a crucial second goal before halftime.

“We lost the game the moment we conceded the second goal. It was the wrong timing to concede,” he said.

He believes former Black Stars leaders such as Michael Essien, Sulley Muntari and Stephen Appiah could have provided the leadership needed to help Ghana recover.

“This was a game for Ghana to have rescued. We needed the likes of Michael Essien, Sulley Muntari, Stephen Appiah, who of course would have galvanised everybody and led by example to get everybody to believe that we can get this thing sorted out and manage the game,”he added

Nimley also questioned the age profile of Carlos Queiroz and his technical team, claiming their combined ages are close to 200 years.

“Coach is 74, assistant is 72. Coach is almost 200 years. What happened to such a man? Why are we doing this?” he said.

He further questioned whether Queiroz would have chosen Ghana if he had offers from other countries, while criticising those responsible for appointing him.

“Do you think that if there were countries who really wanted Carlos Queiroz as coach, he would have chosen Ghana? No, absolutely not. He would never choose Ghana for anything,”he concluded.
