Ghanaian satirist, Kwaku Sintim-Misa, has challenged NPP figures making claims about alleged cocaine production in Ghana to present the evidence they say they possess.
KSM was addressing allegations that clandestine laboratories were operating in Ghana when he played a recording in which an NPP figure claimed intelligence pointed to cocaine being processed locally for export.
The claim prompted KSM to demand evidence rather than more political statements. “If you have such crucial information, please gather NACOB, IGP, the Police force, all of them,” he said on his KSM show.
“Gather them, set them down. This is what we have uncovered. This is the massive corrupt criminal activity we have uncovered. Show the IGP,” he said.
KSM stressed that he was not opposed to investigations into cocaine trafficking or production.
“If there’s cocaine and we have to rally the country or the nation to mobilize and fight against it, I will be in front of that fight,” he said.
“I am not for cocaine. And trust me, I will support you 100%.” His problem, he said, was the manner in which the allegation was being presented.
“You don’t submit such evidence in a press conference,” KSM said.
He urged those making the allegations to first take their intelligence to the appropriate security agencies.
“Gather the facts that you have. I’m begging you, gather the evidence that you have,” he said. KSM also stressed that cocaine should not become a partisan issue.
“Cocaine has no party colour,” he said.
“If it is true that it’s those in power who are doing the cocaine, all Ghanaians will say no,” he added.
He said the allegations should therefore be subjected to investigation and evidence rather than remaining at the level of political accusations.
