Chief Executive Officer of WERise Network, Eunice Dewi Adjei, has urged women entrepreneurs to move beyond simply keeping their businesses running and focus on increasing revenue and creating jobs.

Adjei made the remarks at the 2026 Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Regional Fora of WERise Network, held at the CalBank PLC Auditorium in Accra on Monday, September 28, 2026.

She said the ability of women-owned businesses to scale was important to improving livelihoods and creating more opportunities in communities.

“Rising is beautiful. But rising is not enough,” she said.

“What changes a life, a family, a region, is the power to scale: to grow, to build revenue, to create jobs. That is the work of WERise, and this past year, the evidence is undeniable,” she added.

According to Adjei, WERise reached 7,959 women and young people across 12 regions in 2025, with young women accounting for 70 percent of those reached.

She said the network also helped formalise 3,632 women-owned businesses during the year.

Adjei highlighted the Yenze Ghana Mall as one of the platforms helping women entrepreneurs increase their sales. She said vendor sales at the mall had reached GH¢2.15 million so far in 2026, more than twice the figure recorded in the previous year.

The mall currently has more than 300 active vendors and about 2,000 made-in-Ghana products. Through the BizBox Project, it has also created 147 jobs, with an average monthly pay of GH¢1,000.

On digital skills, Adjei said the DigiVibe programme had trained 209 women-led businesses through practical digital laboratories in Accra and Kumasi.

The programme is being implemented with the AFOS Foundation and other partners, including the Association of Ghana Startups and Women’s Haven.

Meanwhile, 22 vendors have been onboarded onto the MojoPay e-commerce platform, while 155 young women have been screened for ICT placements under TechServe.

The WERise programme will continue with an exhibition at Yenze Ghana Mall and Akunapod from September 29 to October 4, 2026.

Masterclasses on financial literacy, artificial intelligence, digital tools and business management will also be held at Akunapod from September 30, 2026.
