Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) has won two awards at the 2026 Airports Council International (ACI) Africa Conference in Abuja, Nigeria.

The awards were presented during the conference's Gala Dinner on September 22, 2026, where airports across Africa were recognised for their achievements in airport operations and passenger service.

Accra International Airport won the Passenger Facilitation and Readiness Excellence Award 2026 in the Innovation and Transformation category.

The airport was also named runner-up in the Stakeholder Integration category for airports handling between two million and five million passengers annually.

According to the citation accompanying the awards, the jury recognised GACL's commitment to improving passenger facilitation, operational readiness and the overall passenger experience.

The awards were received by the GACL delegation led by Managing Director Yvonne Nana Afriyie Opare.

GACL said the recognition reflected its ongoing efforts to improve airport operations, innovation and collaboration with stakeholders.

The company said it would continue working to improve the efficiency and passenger experience at Accra International Airport.
