Some countries have kicked off their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers in grand style, recording wins in their opening games.

Most of the matches took place on September 25–26, 2026, with top teams such as the Super Eagles securing a win over Madagascar, Algeria defeating Zambia, and Morocco comfortably beating Gabon to maintain their winning records.

In other results, the Teranga Lions of Senegal drew against Mozambique, while Burkina Faso also drew with Benin. Rwanda, South Africa, and Gambia also came out with victories.

These marked the first matches for the countries involved, with the next round of games expected to take place on September 29, 2026, during the international break.
