Media personality, Blakk Rasta, has alleged that lawyer and New Patriotic Party (NPP) member, Maurice Ampaw, is the sponsor of controversial TikToker, “Ghana Jollof”, who has been declared wanted by the Ghana Police Service over insults and hateful speech.

According to Blakk Rasta in a video sighted by GhanaWeb, on September 25, 2026, Ampaw allegedly provides money and content to the account and gives instructions on how certain individuals should be attacked online.

He added that the videos are sent to Salomey Awity Baffour, who is currently in police custody following her arrest by the police.

“This woman here [Ghana Jollof] has sponsors from the NPP… There is an NPP lawyer who is also part of the sponsors of Ghana Jollof. You know who that guy is? Maurice Ampaw. These are the nation wreckers… When you go through the communications, Maurice Ampaw finds videos, sends them through this woman called Salomey, sometimes directly to Ghana Jollof to react to this video.


“He tells them ‘in this video, this is what this person says. Insult them, finish them, but don't say this, don't say that. I have sent you money,’ and he comes to sit down on the radio and TV and behaves like somebody who loves Ghana,” he alleged.

Blakk Rasta also claimed that more than 600 pages of information had been retrieved from a phone linked to the whole case of Ghana Jollof.

“So many pages, over 600 pages of information from that phone alone,” he claimed.

He further alleged that the “Ghana Jollof” account was not acting alone and that several people were behind its activities.

“If Ghana Jollof is despicable, these are the authors of Ghana Jollof, and many more are following suit… these are the people behind Ghana Jollof,” he added.

Blakk Rasta stated that the alleged sponsorship raises questions about the role of political actors in funding individuals to promote their interests online.

He said the issue should lead to closer scrutiny of political sponsorship of social media activities.

“We know that time after time, politicians sponsor people to do their bidding,” he said.

Blakk Rasta questioned how such sponsorships are tracked in Ghana and called for greater attention to the source of funding behind political online activities.

“How should the nation look at it? Should we open our eyes and watch this properly? Who is sponsoring who? In the West, all these things are tracked, but over here, anybody can sponsor just anybody to go out there and do their bidding, criminal or not,” he concluded.
