The Member of Parliament for Madina, Francis-Xavier Sosu, is in stable condition after falling ill while delivering a presentation at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA).

Parliament, in a statement on social media on September 24, 2026, said the MP received immediate assistance at the event before being transferred to a medical facility for further medical attention.

“Parliament is pleased to confirm that Hon. Sosu is in stable condition and is under the care of his medical team,” the statement said.

Parliament expressed appreciation to the management and staff of GIMPA, the medical personnel who attended to the MP, and all those who responded promptly to the incident.

It also thanked members of the public for their prayers and messages of goodwill following the incident.

The development comes after a video circulated on social media showing the MP taking ill while delivering his presentation at GIMPA.

Parliament has, however, urged the public and the media to refrain from sharing the video out of respect for Sosu and his family.

It also cautioned against speculation about the cause of the incident or the MP’s condition and called on the public to respect the privacy of his family.
