A resident of Kasoa Millennium City in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region has recounted how he lost almost everything after a fire engulfed his four-bedroom apartment on Sunday, September 20, 2026.

Narrating the incident in an interview with Channel One TV on September 21, 2026, he said the fire started at about 8 p.m. while he was in his room. He was alerted by his daughter, who was shouting for him.

He said he rushed out and discovered that the women’s bedroom was already engulfed in flames.

The resident said his immediate concern was to remove a gas cylinder from his room because it was full.

After successfully taking the cylinder outside, he attempted to return to the apartment to retrieve his phone, which was charging, but the flames spread rapidly.

“I was not able to enter to bring out my phone and my documents. In fact, I have lost everything. Everything was gone,” he recounted.

He said the only clothes he had on at the time were those he was wearing when the fire started.

“This top I am wearing, I got it from my Presiding Elder,” he added.

Personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) responded to the incident and brought the fire under control, preventing it from spreading to nearby buildings.
