Deputy Chief of Staff (Administration) Nana Oye Bampoe Addo was visibly overcome with emotion during a family gathering held in the wake of the deaths of her two brothers.
In scenes captured by GHOne TV and sighted by GhanaWeb on X on September 18, 2026, mourners assembled under a canopy as relatives offered comfort amid the family’s double tragedy.
At one point, Nana Oye Bampoe Addo, appearing deeply distressed, was consoled by those around her, with hands placed supportively on her shoulders as she bowed her head in grief.
Dressed in a patterned ensemble with a headwrap, she was later captured moving among the gathering and interacting with attendees.
The gathering follows the deaths of her twin brothers, both aged 59.
Dr Isaac Atteh Bampoe Addo, a former Executive Secretary of the Civil and Local Government Staff Association of Ghana (CLOGSAG) and a prominent figure in Ghana’s public sector labour movement, died on August 21, 2026, after a brief illness.
His twin brother, Sidney Nii Oko, also referred to as Okoe Bampoe Addo, died on September 14, 2026, barely three weeks later.
Family members, friends and well-wishers gathered to mourn the successive losses, which have drawn public attention given Nana Oye Bampoe Addo’s high-profile role in the Mahama administration.
Earlier, following Dr Isaac’s death, Chief of Staff Dr Julius Debrah led a government delegation to offer condolences on behalf of President John Dramani Mahama.
