The second match week of the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League has come to a close, with Hearts of Oak maintaining their perfect start while Asante Kotoko, FC Samartex and AshantiGold also picked up important victories.

A total of 21 goals were scored across the eight matches played, with several teams recording their first wins of the campaign.

Hearts of Oak produced another impressive performance, coming from behind to beat Bibiani Gold Stars 2-1 at the DUN’s Park.

Kwame Opoku gave Gold Stars the lead in the 11th minute, but the Phobians responded after the break, with Yaw Baafi and Kwaku Boateng Henry completing the comeback.

The result means Hearts have won both of their opening games and sit top of the table with six points.

At the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, Asante Kotoko also secured their first win of the campaign, beating Heart of Lions 2-1.

Emmanuel Mamah opened the scoring before Isaac Opoku Agyemang doubled the advantage in the second half as the Porcupine Warriors moved to four points.

Defending champions FC Samartex recorded one of the biggest results of the weekend, beating Aduana Stars 1-0 away from home.

Ebenezer Okrah scored deep into stoppage time to give the Timber Giants their second consecutive victory and move them onto six points.

Berekum Chelsea bounced back from their opening-day defeat to Hearts with a 3-1 victory over Dreams FC, while Karela United defeated Bechem United 3-1.

FC AshantiGold also secured their first win of the season with a 3-1 victory over Vision FC.

Elsewhere, Swedru All Blacks edged newly promoted Debibi United 1-0, while Young Apostles recorded their first win after beating Basake Holy Stars by the same scoreline.

The only game yet to be played is the postponed encounter between Medeama and Port City.
