This milestone reflects his unwavering commitment to creating clear pathways for talented young footballers to reach the professional level.

The visionary entrepreneur earned his place on the continent’s most prestigious youth ranking by redefining how grassroots sports can drive social mobility and youth development.

He was one of three outstanding Ghanaians who made the list, alongside Afrobeats sensation Moliy and artificial intelligence innovator Dickson Adjei.

Growing up in Ghana, he repeatedly observed raw football talent emerging on uneven and dusty community grounds—passionate young players with natural ability but lacking structural support, academic guidance, and professional pathways to sustain long-term careers.

Recognising that talent alone was insufficient to overcome systemic barriers, Danso set out to build an institution that merged technical sports training with educational support and character building. In 2019, he founded the East Legon Football Academy, driven by the conviction that athletic development must be paired with life opportunities to create lasting societal impact.

Under his leadership as founder and president, the academy has evolved from a local grassroots project into a recognised platform for youth empowerment. It has directly impacted over 1,000 young athletes through structured training programs, educational scholarships, and global exposure.

On the pitch, the academy has established an impressive competitive record, proudly representing Ghana three times at Denmark’s prestigious Dana Cup tournament and returning with two championship trophies. Beyond athletic success, Danso’s model ensures participants receive tutorials, leadership mentorship, and support to overcome personal and financial challenges, equipping them for life beyond competition.

A key part of Danso’s broader vision has been his engagement with influential figures and stakeholders whose decisions can shape the future of youth development and sports in Ghana. He has engaged state and industry leaders in support of the academy’s vision, including a courtesy visit to former President Nana Akufo-Addo. These engagements highlight his determination to connect grassroots sports with leadership, industry, and national development.

Danso’s growing influence had already attracted international recognition before his Forbes breakthrough. He became the first Ghanaian to win a Bronze Stevie Award at the International Business Awards (Stevies), honored in the category of Thought Leader of the Year – Government or Non-Profit. This marked a historic milestone, underscoring his leadership philosophy and efforts to use sport as a platform for youth empowerment, social development, and opportunity creation.

His innovative management approach and social vision have earned praise from global sports authorities. Fatma Samoura, former Secretary General of FIFA and a judge for the Forbes sports category, commended Danso’s ability to build an internationally competitive academy from modest beginnings while establishing sustainable educational pathways for underserved youth.

This Forbes Under 30 milestone adds to an impressive portfolio of recognition, including being named Rising Star of the Year at the 2024 Ghana Business Awards, receiving a Stevie Award, and earning endorsements from prominent national figures such as former President John Agyekum Kufuor.
