Asante Kotoko head coach Eric Tinkler has raised concerns over the playing conditions at Golden City Park following his side’s 2-2 draw.

Tinkler says the heavy and thick pitch affected players from both teams, particularly their legs, while the intense heat added to the physical demands of the game.

“The pitch is very heavy and thick, and the players’ legs were dead. There was intense heat, so the players deserved to have water breaks,” he said.

Despite the difficult conditions, Tinkler insists the pitch did not prevent Kotoko from playing their usual style of football.

He, however, believes a water break should have been introduced given the heat and the risk of dehydration.
