The Conference of Heads (Proprietors) of Private Second-Cycle Schools (CHOPSS) has released its 2026 list of private second-cycle schools recognised as members in good standing.

The list covers private second-cycle institutions affiliated with CHOPSS across several regions of Ghana. It is intended to guide parents, guardians and prospective students as they make decisions about senior high school education.

According to a statement issued by the Conference on Monday, September 7, 2026, the publication provides the public with information on schools that are “affiliated with the Conference and recognised as members in good standing for the 2026 academic year.”

The schools listed are located in the Ahafo, Ashanti, Bono, Bono East, Central, Eastern, Greater Accra, Northern, Oti, Upper East, Upper West, Volta, Western and Western North Regions.

CHOPSS said the publication forms part of efforts to make information about its member schools more accessible, particularly to families preparing to select private second-cycle institutions for their wards.

“The publication is intended to make relevant information on its member schools more accessible to the public, particularly families preparing to make decisions on senior high school education,” the statement said.

The schools on the 2026 list offer a wide range of academic, technical and applied programmes.

These include General Arts, General Science, Business, Home Economics, Visual Arts, Agricultural Science and Technical programmes.

Some of the institutions also offer specialised courses such as Electrical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Building Construction Technology and Electronics.

The statement further indicated that some schools have expanded their programmes to include Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), Computer Science, Information Technology, Biomedical Science, Languages and Global Studies.

CHOPSS has encouraged parents and prospective students to carefully consider the information contained in the 2026 list before making decisions on private second-cycle education.

The document provides details such as each institution's location, West African Examinations Council (WAEC) centre numbers, and contact information to help parents and students identify and contact the schools.

The Conference, however, urged parents and guardians to conduct further enquiries directly with the schools before enrolling their wards.

“CHOPSS further urges parents and guardians to make appropriate enquiries directly with schools concerning admission requirements, programmes offered, fees and other relevant arrangements before enrolling their wards,” the statement said.

CHOPSS said it remains committed to supporting private second-cycle schools and promoting access to quality second-cycle education in Ghana.
